Applications for Season 23 Now Open!

Live Five is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a home for local professional theatre artists to develop their careers in Saskatchewan.

There are many benefits to producing with Live Five including brand recognition, preferred access to a popular performance venue at a discounted rate, a dedicated subscriber base, a strong group of volunteers, marketing and promotion (including a season brochure directly mailed to past patrons and distributed around the city, as well as various print and digital advertisements, and assistance with media), the advice and assistance of the Board of Directors and fellow season producers, and more. 

We pride ourselves on being one of the most accessible ways of producing live theatre in Saskatoon. We thank you for considering applying to produce with us and can’t wait to read your application. 

Producing with Us

All independent theatre companies wishing to have their show included in our season are required to submit an application. If you and/or your group have any accessibility needs with which Live Five can provide help to ensure you and/or your group are able to apply, please email our Season Selection Committee, at seasonselection@livefive.ca and we will do our best to make sure your needs are met. 

To Apply

Before you begin, please read our Application Guide, which can be found in the Application Package. This provides you with our basic expectations, further information about the selection process and some helpful tips to consider when putting together your application.

You will need to submit:

  • A cover letter containing:

    - Your company’s mandate/mission statement and values, as well as the history of the company or the reasons you founded it.

    - why your company is a good fit for Live Five’s season.

    - A brief synopsis of the play.

    - Why you are choosing to produce this play & why Saskatoon audiences should see it. 

    - Any other pertinent planning details that you wish to include.

  • A copy of the play. If it is being written please include an up to date draft/written pitch and a plan for development. If it is a published script not in the public domain please confirm that the rights are available. It is important we can read what you want to do! 

  • Your preliminary budget. There is an example of what this could look like in the application package. Feel free to make it your own, the more details the better! 

  • The resume of the lead applicant/producer.

  • The resumes of the rest of the confirmed team.

  • Any support materials that you have. If you are a first time producer it is highly encouraged for you to get a letter of support from someone who can vouch for your ability to take on this job.
