Southern Dandy 75

By Andrew Taylor

Produced by Buttered Ghost Theatre

October 16th - 25th, 2026

At Studio 914 (914 20th Street W. Saskatoon, SK)

The 10-year anniversary of one of Live Five’s most infamous productions!

Southern Dandy 75 is the ‘old timey story of Two Boxcar Hobos, who unwittingly find themselves in possession of the finest and rarest bourbon whiskey - The Southern Dandy 75. With craft, honey tongued rhetoric and the help of an unexpected alliance, the two hobos make off with the entire supply. Naturally, their pleasant Sunday afternoon soon derails as the two fellows find themselves on the run from all manner of dangerous and surly adversaries. Meanwhile, it’s election day, and the fate of the town rests in the decision between ‘mostly good’ and ‘just plain villainous’.

Southern Dandy 75 is a comedy of a fanciful nature, fuelled by adventure, poetry, music and booze.

About the Producing Company

Buttered Ghost Theatre is a Saskatoon based theatre company founded in 2011. Buttered Ghost Theatre strives to produce shows that are lively, new, challenging and, above all else, fun and entertaining. Our goal is to excite our audience, to give them a unique experience, and to make memories. We also endeavour to give work to as many emerging professionals as we can.

Buttered Ghost Theatre has been creating new work since founding in 2011, with their first show No Rest For The Wicked premiering at the Saskatoon Fringe. Following up with a wildly popular choose your own adventure play Money Don’t Grow on Trees. Shortly after, No Rest for Wicked was re-created into Dr. Frightful Presents: Dead Air as part of Halloween Howl along Theatre Howl. Dr. Frightful then toured alongside Theatre Howl’s Aiden Flynn Lost His Brother So He Makes Another. Both met tremendous success and were presented again in Saskatoon in Live Five’s 12th season, where Dead Air won a SATAward for Sound Design.

Buttered Ghost Theatre is also working on a new musical alongside Amanda Trapp called West of Nowhere: A Western Western. This new musical has been in development since 2019 and has been a part of SUM Theatre’s First Monday, Persephone Theatre Incubator Series and has had support from SPC.
